Local Attractions

Many of our visitors come here to attend local events at Hartwell House (Historic House Hotel), Waddesdon Manor (one of the many local National Trust properties in Bucks) or RAF Halton.

There are many delightful walks in Buckinghamshire’s Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty including superb views of Chequers and red kites from Coombe Hill. If you want to leave the car behind you can join the North Buckinghamshire Way, which is just a short walk from Little Barn.

We are also fortunate in having several beautiful gardens to explore locally. Waterperry Gardens is just 14 miles away with Oxford Botanic Gardens and Stowe Landscape Gardens a little further away.

Aylesbury provides easy access to many cities including Oxford and London. There are two local stations (Aylesbury and Haddenham & Thame Parkway) providing regular train services to London and Birmingham and a good bus service to Oxford.

Children are well catered for in the area. Attractions include St Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital, Whipsnade Wild Animal Park, the Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery and Museum, Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, Bekonscot Model Village, Chiltern Open Air Museum, Aston Hill mountain biking and many Rare Breed farms.

……..and after all that activity you might like to relax over a delicious meal in one of the many excellent local pubs and restaurants.
